We live in the woods. No shortage of ticks on people and pets. I had been using tweezers and dropping them in a bottle of rubbing alcohol (another vet trick). I found the Tick Off when I took a stray cat to the vet. The vet’s assistants made short work of the ticks. With this tool, I don’t have to worry about popping the tick or leaving parts behind. So simple. The tough part is getting the tick out of the little v notch. Pick it out with the tweezers and drop it in your dedicated and clearly marked bottle of alcohol. Screw the top back on, give the bottle a shake, and you’re done!

We had bought Ticked Off a few years ago and it has saved us (no dogs involved) enough times with its simplicity of use that we bought about 10 in order to be able to give them to family and friends. In a minute or less, the tick is gone; the trick is being patient enough to find it in the first place…

Wow, this is the best tick removal product I have ever tried. I’ve used it on dogs, people, and myself, for big fat dog ticks and tiny seed ticks and it’s never failed to remove the entire tick, head and all. Don’t know how anyone could not like this product. Buying one for everyone I know!!!

This grooved plastic spoon is no better than a tweezer at removing firmly attached ticks. Unless the critter is completely fat and bloated by blood and nearly ready to drop off on its own, you will leave the head in the wound just like you will with tweezers. We’ve tried and tried to make it work, but it’s really hard to get a tick’s head out when it’s firmly buried in a cat’s fur. It might work better on dogs, but I haven’t tried that since I don’t have dogs.
I’ll keep looking and I’ll expect to pay more for the right tool. Sadly, this little plastic spoon isn’t the right tool.
